Changes in television and radio fees

As of 1 May 2025, changes concerning television and radio fees came into force on the basis of the so-called media amendment. Here are the key changes to the amendment.

Changes for households
  • The new TV fee increases to CZK 150 per month, regardless of the number of receivers
  • The new radio fee increases to CZK 55 per month, regardless of the number of receivers
  • Fees will now apply to: televisions, radios, smartphones, computers, tablets and other internet-connected devices that allow you to watch or listen to online broadcasts
  • Receivers capable of watching and listening to online broadcasts are automatically subject to both fees (PC, laptop, smartphone, etc.)
  • The principle of one payment per household still applies
Changes for businesses
  • The amount of the fee now depends on the number of full-time equivalent employees (FTE)
  • The obligation applies to companies with 25 or more employees
  • If the employer is not on the register of Czech Television and Czech Radio and does not meet the conditions, there is no obligation to register or report the number of employees
  • Companies only have to report a change in the number of employees when moving to another band
  • Fees for individual bands:
