BDO has a new senior partner in the tax department. Since February, she has been Petra Pospíšilová, who, among other things, holds the position of President of the Chamber of Tax Advisors. She joined BDO in September last year, until then she held the position of Tax Director at ČSOB. According to BDO, the appointment of Petra Pospíšilová as head of the tax department will further enhance the services offered in this area and further strengthen the company's position as one of the five strongest on the market.
"As the new Head of Tax, I want to focus on developing the team because we have great, talented and hard-working people who have huge potential. I would like to further connect their expertise and skills to our clients' needs so that they bring real value to them. Therefore, I also want to strengthen the client-oriented approach - to help them see what is key for them and to set the tax agenda in a way that does not hinder their growth, but on the contrary supports them in their business as much as possible," says Petra Pospíšilová, the new Head of Tax at BDO.
BDO currently employs 64 certified tax advisors. Last year, the tax team grew both organically and thanks to the fact that Euro-Trend, led by Jiří Nekovář, became part of BDO.
Petra Pospíšilová has been the president of the Chamber of Tax Advisors (KDP) since 2015. At that time, she replaced Martin Tuček, another BDO tax advisor, in this position. Together with Jiří Nekovář, who was the longest-serving president of the KDP, they form a trio of tax advisors with experience in this function who now work in the BDO tax team. In total, half of the six KDP presidents to date have worked at BDO.
At the same time, Petra Pospíšilová has become Vice President of the Confederation of European Tax Advisers (CFE Tax Advisers Europe) as of 1 January 2025. Prior to joining BDO, Petra Pospíšilová made her mark on the professional community as a long-standing tax director of the ČSOB Group, which earned her a place in the Hall of Fame of the most influential women in the Czech financial world.
This is another positive news for BDO in the Czech Republic after it was awarded the “Largest Consulting Firm of the Year 2024” award on 12 February, and also after noting that its total revenues in the past year exceeded CZK 944 million. In addition, the expert jury awarded BDO the 2nd place in the Tax Firm of the Year 2024 category. The public then voted it the same position in the Most Desirable Employer in Tax category.
