BDO wins the award for Largest Consulting Firm of the Year 2024 and celebrates other achievements

BDO has been awarded the award of the Largest Consulting Firm of the Year 2024 in the “TOP TAX & ACCOUNTING Firm of the Year 2024” competition. The competition awards the title of the Largest Consulting Firm of the Year based on both revenues in the Czech market and total number of employees, with BDO coming in first place in both categories. At the same time, in another category, Jiří Pospíšil, an accounting methodologist and IFRS expert from BDO, was named Accounting Personality of the Year 2024.

“A huge thank you for this success and for the fact that we are growing and successful as BDO belongs above all to our people, their expertise and commitment to continuous learning, willingness to share knowledge and experience among themselves, honest work and high commitment to client work,” comments Petr Slavíček, Managing Partner of Audit Services and Chairman of the Board of BDO Czech Republic. “I also see the magic of this competition in the fact that it helps to raise the visibility of the best professionals who move the whole industry forward, contribute to improving the quality of advisory services and set an example for young talents who see in concrete examples that this profession has a future,” he adds.

In another category, Accounting Personality of the Year 2024, the winner was Jiří Pospíšil, who specialises in accounting methodology and IFRS in his role as a manager. He is also a lecturer at the Faculty of Finance and Accounting at the University of Economics in Prague and is engaged in lecturing and research activities focused on accounting for business combinations and business valuation. The third place in this category went to Lucie Formanová, who works at the Mendel University in Brno, where she organises the Zaúčtuj To! competition in cooperation with BDO and other partners.

"I would like to thank my colleagues from BDO, accountants, taxpayers and auditors, with whom I have been cooperating for eight years, for their professional support. My colleagues, students and graduates of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting at the University of Economics in Prague are also a great support to me, who keep me convinced that this field of ours is moving in the right direction and has a great future ahead of it," says Jiří Pospíšil.

In the Tax Hope of 2024 category, the top four winners were tax advisors Josef Klíma from BDO's Brno office and Lukáš Voráček from BDO's Prague tax team. At the same time, BDO achieved a silver position in the Most Desirable Employer in Tax and Tax Firm of the Year 2024 categories.

“BDO's success is a reflection of the growth of our company, which recorded 13% year-on-year sales growth in the Czech Republic, growing faster locally than BDO's global network, which recorded sales growth of more than 7% year-on-year,” informs Petr Slavíček.

The title of the largest consulting company is open to companies operating in the Czech Republic that provide services in the field of tax, accounting, legal audit and other areas of business consulting and publish domestic financial results.
