Ing. Jiří Nekovář, Ph.D. was born in 1953. After graduating from the University of Economics in Prague, majoring in Economics and Industrial Management, he worked in various economic functions in the state administration. Since 1990 he has been engaged in economic consulting, he is a certified consultant for research and development and tax consultant No. 002.

At BDO Euro-Trend he focuses on tax consulting.

  • In 1993, he was the founder of the Chamber of Tax Advisors of the Czech Republic, in the first 3 years he served as vice-president, then from 1996 to 2011 he served as its president.
  • In 2006 he was elected Vice President and in 2013 and 2014 he served as President of the Confédération Fiscale Européenne (CFE).
  • He is currently a member of the Coordination Committee of the Minister of Finance for Taxes and a member of the Ministry of Finance's National Discussion Group on Taxes.
  • In December 2010, he was appointed as a member of the National Economic Council of the Government (NERV) and since 2011 he has been a member of the Legislative Council of the Government's Working Committee on Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA).
  • From 2000 to 2006 he was a member of the Board of Directors of the General Health Insurance Company. He is a member of the Supervisory Board of the CEZ Foundation, a member of the Academic Board of the private university Akademie STING in Brno and Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University of Economics.
  • He was appointed arbitrator of the Arbitration Court at the Chamber of Commerce of the Czech Republic. Since August 2013, he has served as the President of the Council for Public Oversight of Audit and is currently a member of its Presidium.
  • In November 2015, he was appointed Honorary Tax Advisor of AOTCA. He is also a founding member of the Global Tax Advisory Platform and was elected to the position of Executive Board Director of CFE in September 2020.
